According to the prolific Chinese leaker who goes by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming Xiaomi 18 will come with a periscope telephoto camera. In fact, it’s very likely to be the same 50MP f/3.0 camera with 5x optical zoom that the Xiaomi 17 Pro uses.
The Xiaomi 18 will also get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, wireless charging support, as well as very high dust and water resistance. It’s expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC, though it’s still unclear which one – rumor has it there will be the 8 Elite Gen 6 but also an 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Xiaomi may opt for the former for the ‘vanilla’ model in the line to offset some of the RAM inflation.
Xiaomi 17
There’s no more information about the Xiaomi 18 so far, but we’ll let you know when we find out more about it. We expect it to become official around September.
