Apple is rumored to launch a new strap for its upcoming iPhone 17 family, due to be unveiled on September 9. Today a new leak shows us what it will look like. Note that the images below aren’t leaked renders – they are renders created by an artist based on leaked information.
The strap will work with Apple’s iPhone 17 cases, which have long been rumored to have a couple of holes for it to run through. The strap has what is dubbed by the source of this leak as “an innovative system”, whereby it features a flexible metal core that makes it fully magnetic across its entire length.
At the ends there are rings polarized oppositely, thus creating a magnetic attraction and closing it with enhanced strength, ensuring a robust hold. With this mechanism in place, attachment and detachment of the strap should be a breeze, and the need for traditional hooks or loops is completely eliminated.

The strap will be made out of woven nylon, allegedly similar to that used in Apple’s Sport Loop Bands. There may also be a silicone version of the strap, offering a softer touch and greater flexibility. Obviously, do expect the strap colors to be matched to those of the iPhone 17 cases.
Production of the Crossbody Strap has apparently already commenced, suggesting it will become available next month alongside the new iPhones and their cases.
