Samsung Galaxy A16 4G in for review

Stop us if you’ve seen this one. Today we have the Samsung Galaxy A16 for review, the nearly identical 4G version of the Galaxy A16 5G we reviewed last month.

Like the 5G model, the 4G one ships with nothing more than a SIM eject tool and a USB-C cable.

The LTE-only Galaxy A16 is nearly identical to its 5G counterpart but there are some obvious visual differences. Where the 5G model had a rear panel with a prism-like effect to reflections, the 4G has a matte finish. Ours is the Gray model but it definitely has some light Blue to it.

Specs-wise, you get the same 6.7-inch 1080x2340px 90Hz Super AMOLED upfront, the same 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, and the same 50MP + 5MP + 2MP (1x + 0.6x + macro) camera setup.

The LTE-only model has the same 6nm Helio G99 SoC as its predecessor, the Galaxy A15 4G.

The Galaxy A16 in Gray

The chip is bound to produce different battery life numbers and possibly a difference in camera quality. We’ll test both in our full review.

And you’d expect a difference in price. You’d generally find the Galaxy A16 5G for around €250, though it can be discounted down to €200. The Galaxy A16 4G is not that widely available yet, but is generally around €190 – so around a €50-€60 difference.

Stay tuned for more!
