This is the Realme GT 8 Pro and it’s coming to the global stage on November 20. But we have it already at HQ and can show you the design of the phone up close.

Which is perfect, because the design is this phone’s strongest asset. Realme went with a swappable camera bump design, giving you a choice of not just form, but also finish and color. The camera bump can either be a rectangle or a circle and in different looks as well – like a robot. Or, technically, you can leave the phone without a camera bump, defaulting to a car-without-a-bumper-kind-of-look.

Realme sent us all seven camera bumps that will be initially available, and we have all of them lined up for your viewing pleasure. In several markets including India, Italy, Spain, Poland, and France the phone will ship with one attached and a spare in the box and you’ll be able to get the rest on your own. Realme promises it will sell them in all markets where the phone is available.

They attach to the phone’s camera island via two T4 screws. Realme supplies both a small Torx screwdriver and two extra screws with the phone.

Finally, let’s do a proper unboxing. The Realme GT 8 Pro ships with a stacked box. You get a 120W charger, a USB-A to USB-C cable, two extra screws, a small Torx screwdriver, and a case.

The phone comes with a circular island in the box, and in turn, the supplied case has a circular opening.

Even the case needs to be different to fit the different styles of camera bump

We have the Urban Blue Realme GT 8 Pro, and it’s a sort of greyish color. It’s very subdued.

The phone has a flat glass front, flat matte metal sides, and a vegan leather rear panel with a worn-like texture. It’s pleasant to the touch, and it’s very secure in the hand.

Finally, the Realme GT 8 Pro ships with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which we already benchmarked and found to be an amazing performer. so you’re getting a proper flagship experience.

We also took some quick pictures with the Realme GT 8 Pro for you. But before proceeding, we’d like to mention that only the primary camera clicks pictures in Ricoh GR mode, which allows you to shoot with it in 28mm, 35mm, 40mm, and 50mm equivalent focal lengths. We have included the photos shot at 28mm focal length.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the 200MP periscope telephoto camera can click pictures in high-resolution mode only at 3x magnification. There’s no option for 1x magnification. We’ve asked Realme about the possibility of adding a 1x magnification for 200MP Hi-Res mode with an OTA update, but while we await more details from the company, you can check the pictures we clicked below.
