Realme kicks off 2026 in style with the 16 Pro+. The phone has a solid specs sheet, but what you’ll notice first is just how impressive it looks. But before we get to either topic, let’s unbox it.
The phone ships with a full box – you get a USB-A to USB-C cable, a case, and an 80W SuperVOOC charger.

Unboxing the Realme 16 Pro+
The Realme 16 Pro+ will come in a few finishes – Master Grey, Camellia Pink, and the Master Gold unit we’ve got in the office. It has a bio-based organic silicone back panel, which has what Realme calls a wheat-grain texture. It looks and feels very much like worn, grainy leather.
It pairs nicely with the metal mirror finish of the frame. As with so many other recent Chinese phones, it’d be a shame to put it inside its plain grey case.

The camera system on the Realme 16 Pro+ is a standout. Unlike the Realme 16 Pro and the previous 15 Pro, the Pro+ has a full triple setup with a periscope zoom unit.

The main shooter is a 200MP LumaColor unit. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide. The front camera is a 50MP shooter. But what the Pro+ has that the regular Realme 16 Pro lacks is another 50MP 3.5x telephoto lens. It allows for up to 120x Super Zoom, as well as telemacro abilities.

Other key specs have the number 7 in common. First is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip in charge of operations. It’s paired with 12GB of RAM. The other is the 7,000mAh battery, the same capacity as last year’s Realme 15 Pro, but still impressive in early 2026.
The screen is a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED with impeccable parameters – 10-bit, up to 6,500 nits – but the glass on top of it is curved, something of a rarity these days. We like it, but flat vs curved has been a heated debate – whether it’s for you is something you can tell only after you’ve handled a phone.
