Say hello to the Poco X7 and Poco X7 Pro – two smartphones with 50 MP cameras and attractive prices. These midrangers are similar to two Redmi phones, currently available only in China, with the two being mostly separated by their chipsets and battery capacity.

Poco X7 Pro is largely based on the Redmi Turbo 4 with its Dimensity 8400 chipset and 6.67″ AMOLED display. The front panel supports up to 120 Hz refresh rate and offers up to 3,200 nits peak brightness, and is protected by a Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
There is a 50 MP main camera at the back with OIS and IMX882 sensor by Sony, coupled with an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. The selfie shooter inside the punch hole has a 20 MP sensor.
The Pro offers a big 6,000 mAh battery, but the version in India will have a 6,500 mAh capacity (the same as the Turbo 4) with 90W wired charging support, which should go from 0 to 100% in 42 minutes. The Xiaomi brand promises 90% capacity retention after 1,000 cycles, and the phone can be charged even in extremely cold environments.
Poco X7 Pro comes with HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. It brings AI Erase Pro, AI Image Expansion, AI Film, AI Interpreter, AI Notes, and AI Recorder to go with current trends.
If that is not enough, the phone has the Google Gemini app pre-installed for AI assistance needed with writing, learning, and brainstorming.
The list of highlights continues with IP68 water and dust protection (the variant in India has IP66 and IP69 as well), NFC, IR blaster and dual-frequency GPS. The fingerprint scanner is under the OLED panel, and you get dual SIM support.
There are three color options – Green, Black, and Yellow, with the latter being vegan leather. Memory options are also three – 8/256 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/512 GB but not every market will get all three.
Poco X7
The Poco X7 is powered by the Dimensity 7300, but it matches the 6.67″ AMOLED display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate of the Pro. The protection has been downgraded to Gorilla Glass 7i, though.
While the Pro has two cameras, here we have three, lined up in a square formation with the LED flash – 50 MP main + 8 MP ultra-wide + 2 MP macro.
Just like the other X7 device, here the main shooter comes with OIS and Sony IMX882 sensor, while the selfie cam has a 20 MP imager.
These specs are very similar to the Redmi Note 14 Pro, but here Xiaomi decided to downgrade the battery capacity to 5,110 mAh with 45W wired charging support. This battery is said to keep 80% of its capacity after 1,600 cycles, which is more than four years of general use.
Rather disappointingly, Poco X7 comes with the first iteration of HyperOS, meaning only a small set of AI features, which aren’t generative AI at all. At least it has IP68 certification (also IP66 and IP69 in India), NFC, IR blaster and an UD fingerprint scanner.
Poco X7 comes in Silver, Green, and Black with Yellow; again, the hero color is made of vegan leather. Memory options are either 8/256 GB or 12/512 GB, with RAM being LPDDR4X, and storage is just UFS 2.2.
