We unboxed the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro and now it’s time for the Nothing Phone (3a). The unboxing is the same – you get a USB-C cable and a SIM eject tool.
You’d need to get a charger and case separately, though with such a unique design and such a pretty color, we’d forgive anyone who’d rather use the Phone (3a) commando.
We’ve already talked about the differences between the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro but let’s rehash it here. The Pro adds a longer-reaching zoom camera with a bigger sensor and a nicer selfie camera.
To its credit, the vanilla model has a better-looking camera island and comes in a lovely Blue color that sets it apart from pretty much every phone out there.
Nothing Phone (3a) in Blue, the Phone (3a) Pro in Grey
The Nothing Phone (3a) is £70/$80/€80/INR 9,000 less than the Pro, which isn’t a negligible sum. And you’re not giving up any foundational aspects of the phone – the display, chipset, and battery are all the same.
On the camera side, you’re still getting a zoom camera, which sounds more than satisfactory on paper—a 50mm f/2.0 camera is ideal for people shots, and the good-sized sensor and bright lens should do great.
The Nothing Phone (3a) brings a fluid and unique Android 15 experience. Since its inception, Nothing has put emphasis on the software feel and it’s rewarded the company with a loyal following. We’re happy to say that the Phone (3a) feels just as great to use as we’ve come to expect from the brand name Nothing. More to come soon!
