The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumored to launch ahead of schedule, with leaks suggesting the brand may unveil it by late December. The flagship is expected to deliver notable camera upgrades, and fresh details about its imaging sensors have now surfaced online.
Leaked images of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography kit suggest the upcoming phone will feature a triple rear-camera setup. While this may seem like a step down from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s quad-camera setup, the change might not be a downgrade after all.

The 15 Ultra offered dual telephoto cameras. As per the leak, Xiaomi may get rid of the 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and offer an overall improved telephoto sensor.

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship may come with a 50MP OVX10500U sensor, a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KHPE telephoto unit, and a 50MP OV50M or 50MP S5KJN5 ultrawide camera. For selfies, the phone could use a 50MP OV50M sensor.
