The iQOO 15 Ultra is now official – it is the first iQOO phone with an active cooling fan and it is the first to deserve the “Ultra” moniker (previously, “Pro” models have been the top end).
The Ultra draws its power from a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same as the vanilla iQOO 15. However, here there is the “Ice Dome” system – a fairly large 17x17mm fan that moves 0.315 cfm (cubic feet per minute). The chipset is paired with 10,667Mbps LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1. The Qualcomm chip is paired with the Q3 gaming chip that handles resolution upscaling and frame generation.

Sticking with the Ultra’s gaming side, there are two 600Hz shoulder triggers to give you extra controls (each supports customizable tap and swipe gestures). Plus dual-axis vibration motors and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers for immersive audio. And an RGB LED strip on the camera island on the back, of course. The phone has been tested with seven popular games and it held a steady 144fps while livestreaming. It’s the first to run Honor of Kings at Ultra Quality settings at 144fps (and it can maintain 41.5°C temperature, measured on the back of the body).

The large 6.85” 144Hz OLED display is a Samsung M14 LTPO panel. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid and Zreal and offers 118% P3 coverage. Peak full screen brightness is 2,600 nits and DC dimming is supported. The screen offers 480Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate for gaming.

The large 7,400mAh battery has 867Wh/L energy density (the phone measures 8.7mm thick and weighs 227g). The phone supports 100W FlashCharge (55W PPS) and 40W wireless charging. For comparison, the vanilla iQOO 15 (8.1mm, 215g) has a 7,000mAh battery with the same charging capabilities.
Moving on to cameras, the iQOO 15 Ultra features a 50MP IMX921 1/1.56” main camera (CIPA 4.5 OIS), a 50MP 3x telephoto camera (1/1.95”, f/2.65 lens with CIPA 4.5 OIS) and a 50MP 107° ultra-wide camera (1/2.76”, f/2.05). The selfie camera is a 32MP module with an f/2.2 lens. This is basically the same camera as on the vanilla 15.

One surprising spec on the Ultra is the IP68/IP69 water resistance rating – despite having a cooling fan, the iQOO 15 Ultra offers full dust and water protection.

Other specs worth mentioning are a new, faster ultrasonic fingerprint reader, NFC support and three Wi-Fi antennas for a stable connection (even if your hand gets in the way).
