Apple’s long-rumored foldable, tentatively called the iPhone Fold, is expected to launch next year, though some reports still suggest a 2027 debut. A new leak has now surfaced that details the foldable iPhone’s battery size.
The Apple iPhone Fold will reportedly pack a larger battery than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which gets a 4,823mAh cell (eSIM only model gets a 5,088mAh unit). The foldable is said to pack a battery with a capacity between 5,400 and 5,800mAh.

The report claims that Apple is currently testing the foldable iPhone with the above-mentioned battery capacity. It also points out that early prototypes of the iPhone Air used a 3,000mAh battery, but Apple was ultimately able to fit a larger unit in the final model.
A similar outcome is possible for the iPhone Fold, which may end up with a battery closer to 6,000mAh. The foldable is rumored to get a 7.58-inch inner display and a 5.38-inch cover screen, meaning a larger battery would be essential to meet the increased power demands.
