Apple’s first foldable, widely referred to as the iPhone Fold, is rumored to launch next year. While expectations are high, a new report now offers a clearer picture of the impact it could have on the foldable smartphone market.
The foldable iPhone is expected to capture more than 22% of the global foldable market share in 2026, according to a report by market research firm IDC.

As per the firm, the iPhone Fold is projected to grab 34% of the foldable market value due to its rumored $2,400 price tag.
The foldable smartphone category is reported to see increased consumer interest thanks to the foldable iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, and foldables from Huawei.

Foldable phones will continue to outperform the wider smartphone market in 2026 and are projected to make up over 10% of its total value by 2029, according to IDC.
The iPhone Fold is rumored to offer a 5.8-inch cover screen, a 7.58-inch inner flexible display, and a battery that’s larger than the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
