Getting into the iPhone 17 is as simple as removing the two pentalobe screws on the bottom of the phone, which Apple sells for just $0.18 each.

If you’re going for a battery swap, the next step is to heat up the back glass, which allows the phone to open up like a book and removing a few more screws completely frees up the back panel from the phone.

By the way, Apple is charging a cool $159 for replacement back glass panels. A replacement battery will set you back $99, but if you send your old one back to Apple, it goes down to $51. If you’re after a screen replacement, be prepared to shell out $329. Other component costs include $199 for the front-facing camera and Face ID sensor, $169 for the dual rear cameras, $67 for the earpiece and 5G mmWave antenna and $67.08 for the Taptic Engine.
