Infinix unveils blade-less fan, liquid cooling, a gaming controller, and magnetic accessories

Aside from the satellite communication support coming to the Note 60 series later this year, Infinix has also announced a new active cooling technology called HydroFlow. It’s liquid cooling, “one of the smartphone world’s most advanced”, according to the brand.

At the center of it all is the industry’s first Dual Piezoelectric Ceramic Single Pump, which uses electric current to drive high-frequency deformation of piezoelectric ceramics, driving fluorinated liquid at a high-speed flow rate of up to 6.5 ml/min, which is double the speed of conventional active liquid cooling systems. The liquid cooling channels cover 100% of the mainboard’s core heat sources for “unprecedented cooling precision and efficiency”, the official press release says.

To amplify this even further, Infinix is also introducing the world’s first piezoelectric fan technology for smartphones, which uses a 0.1mm ultra-thin vibrating sheet that pulses 25,000 times per second, creating a high-pressure, turbulent air jet that drives over ten times greater heat dissipation than traditional spinning blades. This fan operates in near silence thanks to its solid-state structure and lack of blades, ensuring a more comfortable user experience.

The next step which Infinix is already working on is a full-chamber immersive cooling solution, where liquid directly contacts key components for rapid heat dissipation.

The brand has also revealed an industry-first split gaming controller, featuring a large pressure-sensitive touchpad and ultra-low-latency, along with wireless magnetic triggers with “mouse-grade micro-switches”.

Infinix is no stranger to experimenting with color-changing backs – it demoed e-ink based solutions twice in 2024, for example. Today at CES it’s introducing Active Visual Backplate technology, which uses precise optical microstructures to manipulate reflected light into a back panel design that changes with viewing angles and environments. Simply rotating the phone will let you enjoy “flowing colors, vivid and continuous animations, or mesmerizing 3D stereoscopic images on the back cover”.

As a further enhancement of this tech, Infinix is adding smart materials like bistable thermo-chromatic ink and starry photochromic leather to actively shift the pattern and color with changes in temperature and ambient light. These visuals are on top of the advanced “Monolithic Cold-carved Polymer structure, which seamlessly integrates the camera module into the rear panel for a more refined aesthetic and smoother touch”.

The combination of all of these technologies will breathe “living personality into Infinix products, with designs that are stunning at first glance and extraordinary upon closer inspection”, the company says.

Finally, Infinix is introducing a magnetic accessory ecosystem called ModuVerse, and five Modu accessories are highlighted first. These connect to Infinix smartphones using “a unified magnetic interface”. The first ones are the Mic Modu for “professional noise reduction”, a magnetically attached anti-shake SportsCam Modu, a Meeting Modu with integrated translation and notes generation, a StackPower Modu for on-demand power expansion, and a VlogCam Modu for “AI-driven subject tracking and gesture control”.

It’s unclear when any of these technologies will actually be implemented in a shipping Infinix product, but we’ll let you know when we find out more about them.
