Earlier this week, a report suggested that Apple would introduce parts of its upgraded Siri in the iOS 26.4 update. However, a new report now suggests the release has been delayed.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple reportedly ran into multiple issues with the new Siri during internal testing.

Gurman notes that the new and improved Siri will likely be included in the iOS 26.5 update, which is expected to be rolled out in May. Other features are still said to be only available in iOS 27 in September.
The report adds that internal testers encountered multiple issues while using the upgraded Siri, including delayed responses, inaccurate query handling, difficulty processing complex questions, unexpected switches to ChatGPT instead of using Apple’s own models, and trouble understanding fast speakers, in some cases even cutting users off mid-sentence.
According to the report, internal iOS 26.5 builds include a toggle to preview a feature that allows Siri to access personal data. The report further notes that the ‘app intents’ Siri functionality is also behind schedule.
The report notes that current internal builds of iOS 26.5 include a web search tool and image generation capabilities. However, these features are unlikely to be part of the upcoming iOS 26.4 update. Users may need to wait longer to try out some of the rumored Siri enhancements.
