Apple expanded its Fitness+ service to 28 markets last month, including Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Taiwan, and said that Fitness+ would launch in Japan in early 2026. Well, it’s not really early 2026, but the service is now available in the East Asian island country.
The Apple Fitness+ subscription costs JPY980/month or JPY7,800/year in Japan. However, new Fitness+ users in Japan will get a free one-month trial, while those purchasing a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2 are eligible for a 3-month trial.

Members of Anytime Fitness can also access Apple Fitness+ as a part of their membership, while those having a free trial of Anytime Fitness can access Fitness+ for two months for free.
In addition to the usual set of benefits and features, Apple Fitness+ users in Japan will have access to 12 workout and meditation types with Japanese audio and subtitles.
Moreover, the Artist Spotlight series will feature Japanese musical duo YOASOBI, while the episodes of “Time to Walk” audio walking experience activity will feature Japanese comedian and actress Naomi Watanabe.
